Here she is at my friend's house:
First of all, she was a maniac in the car which I am not used to! My dogs act like they are in a coma when they are in the car and she was panting like crazy, pacing back and forth and sticking her head way out the window. Luckily, by the second car ride she figured it out and laid on the floor like my dogs (maybe they showed her). Second, I had no idea how she would be with the cats and had to consider Gina being so young. So when we first arrived home I wanted to have her on leash and do a proper intro, but Marty jumped right in the car (he likes to greet the dogs when we get home), jumped in the back and started rubbing up against her and purring. I kept waiting for the ball to drop and for her to notice him, but she never seemed to care! I carefully fed her alone that night just to make sure she wouldn't recourse guard, but she really couldn't care less and so she came in to settle down for the night.
Does she look at home?
You must just be a magnet for the most amazingly peaceful and well-behaved animals ever! I am so jealous of how you seamlessly add to your family - permanent or temporary. She seems like such a love!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It has been a great debate for me whether or not to keep this one...if she had more issues it would be an easier decision!
DeleteOH MY GOSH!!!!!! I have goosebumps and tears in my eyes? I don't know why exactly but she is gorgeous and I thank you for picking her up and giving her a chance instead of dumping her off in at the pound. What a baby doll!
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily:) I could never live with myself if I dropped a dog off of any breed to the shelter! She is a sweetheart:)
DeleteI never read this post. What a lucky dog she was to go home with you and your crew. So glad you found her a nice home, even if she wasn't the right fit for your home.
ReplyDeleteOh Shaka...I ADORED this dog. She was the perfect dog to be honest. And she was one of those dogs that was just born that way. I wish I could have kept her and I often think of what our life would be like with her along, especially now that we have a house where she could live with us. I try to remind myself of how happy she must be with her new family though:)
