I went out front to say hi to my neighbor and Gina joined us for a little kitty one-on-one session.
mini-cat :-) |
Ya, she looks a bit possessed here but it's a cool picture! |
These last ones are nothing special but they make me laugh because all that changes is her ear position. We must have been trying to get her attention and in true cat fashion, she ignored us.
There have only been a couple other times the dogs have had their pictures taken for "real" like the time Norman got photographed as a puppy at the Pet Expo and a couple visits from my sister-in-law when she took some fantastic shots. I never get sick of looking at them!
For those of you without fancy cameras...do you cherish a handful of special "pro" photos of your dogs? I'm frightened to think of how many pictures I'd take if I had an DSLR!

LOVE these photos!! So great! Your pooches are so photogenic!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend just bought be a new Coolpix for Christmas - not a DSLR, but higher end point and shoot. It's been great for getting some cool shots. I'd love to move up to a DSLR sometime in the near future and take a photography class. I always envy the great photos I see in the other blogs!!
My last digital camera was a coolpix and I thought it took really nice photos!
DeleteI soooo want a DSLR (I know which one I want and was kind of waiting for a sale) and here's a funny story. The other day my hubby and I were talking about cars and he said something about trading in my truck. I said not unless you're going to buy me a mini. Later he was was googling minis in our area for sale and narrowing down the choices. He said he really wanted to buy me one because I'd been helping him so much with his elderly father. I said I'd rather have the camera!
ReplyDeleteI don't know...a camera or a car? I guess when you want something, you really want it! Maybe it's like how I would rather go on a road trip with my dogs than on any fancy trip:)
DeleteI've always assumed you had a DSLR based on your photos! But then, editing is not my thing and we have poor indoor lighting. I love it when the lighting is perfect outside and I manage to get a particularly good shot of the pups. We don't have any pro photos, although I plan to include pups if we are able to get pro family photos done in the future. I'd love to get a DSLR someday but can't justify the cost right now.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think the outdoor iphone pics are good for the blog as long as they're not moving to fast. I do a good deal of editing too. Of course they don't work for print or enlarged. I'd love to get a DSLR to get great indoor, action shots and close-ups!
DeleteI have a DSLR which I use all the time, and absolutely love! I highly recommend purchasing one used from a reputable used/new camera store in your area. It gives you a chance to get into a camera you wouldn't otherwise be able to afford, and lets you figure out if you will like switching lenses, editing RAW files, and all of that, before you invest the big bucks.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I've only ever paid for professional photos once. I ended up only ordering two of them, both pictures of me with Koira, since that is something I can't do easily on my own. I found out that I really didn't care for most of the Koira alone pictures the photographer got, because I felt that I could get better ones myself.
Thanks for the advice! I know your photos are always amazing so I'm not surprised that a photographer could not do better and you know you're dogs best! I'd love to get those great motion shots of K&N...they've got some serious moves!
DeleteI just use my phone as well, and I don't even have an iphone. My husband has a pretty nice digital camera. I don't even know what kind it is. But I use it from time to time and even though I have no skills whatsoever, the shots are often pretty good!
ReplyDeleteThese pics of your three are gorgeous!
I love these photos, especially the first two!
ReplyDeleteI use my photo to take pics and I also have a point and shoot but would really like to get my hands on a DSLR.
Sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat!
DeleteWhat beautiful photos! I have a few choice shots that are my faves of the dogs... most of which were taken with my DSLR but one was just taken with my trusty iPhone. :)

Really FABULOUS pics by the neighbor!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are so great! I especially love the ones with the three musketeers all sitting on the steps together :)
ReplyDeleteMy dad's sister just let us borrow her fancy camera, but mom hasn't gotten around to trying it yet. I think she is a little afraid she might break it or something =P
I don't blame her but you would make such a great subject!
DeleteI suffer from taking iPhone photos only. Oh my and I have accumulated well over a thousand in just a few months. If I had a real camera...oh dear...
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable pictures! Doggy models!
Oops. Me too. I sometimes take 1000 in 1 month:/ No wonder I have so many external hard drives!
DeleteLove that first photo!
