While I was writing Monday's post about having Norman with us for a year now, I was trying to remember what it was like when he first came home. This of course led me to check out old photos and videos. The pictures I've looked at a thousand times and nothing was new, but I did come across some videos that I haven't watched in a long time. The first one was so amusing to me because while Kaya was being pretty tolerant, you could tell she was a bit annoyed to have a puppy in her face while she was chewing her antler. I took this video on Norman's second night with us...
I love Norman's process of trying to get her attention and how quickly he gave up. This next video I took a week later and it looks like Kaya gave up pretty dang quick on trying to keep him away from her bone. I don't remember ever correcting her on this issue so she must have figured it out on her own.
The next video is just hilarious because Norman had not yet figured out how to get up on the couch and Kaya looks like she is totally showing off that she is up there watching tv without him.
The last one is just hilarious puppy and crazy cat shenanigans:)

Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
I love that Kaya is watching what sounds like a dog training video :)
ReplyDeleteHaha...I was trying to figure it out. She was watching Pit Bulls & Parolees:)
DeleteThose are great videos! It's so much fun to look back on them isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThese videos are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love how Kaya was totally annoyed in the first one but he kept at it. His peristence reminds me of Taylor. Even when no one else wanted to play she didn't give up! Obviously he did eventually but his intitial perisistence was so puppy innocent.
I love seeing how he interacts with Marty. I haven't been in many homes where people have both dogs and cats (surprisingly) but in any house that did have both I never saw the cat interact with the dogs. How funny that your kitty is such a good play partner! Probably the best cat ever.
I don't want three dogs, but if I found a dog with Norman's exact personality I would adopt him or her! Seriously!
The funny thing is that I always picture Norman as not being very puppyish though in that video he clearly was. I think it's because he was never mouthy or obnoxious with people(just Kaya...lol) so I didn't think about it.
DeleteI don't know of many dog/cat households either. I think the key to them being super close is because I got my kitties from a very young age(5-6 weeks). Though I am sure there are exceptions, I imagine the chance of them being bff's is pretty good that way. I love watching them together too!
I don't know if its just me but the same video kept coming up. I'd love to see them all :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! Not sure...it's working right on my computer. If you click on any of the video titles, it'll take you to my youtube page and you can watch all of them:)
DeleteTheir interactions are so adorable! What a wonderful archive to have of those early days together.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. I wish I'd taken video of Silas as a little guy. I could have, but I just didn't think about it.
